"Das Kind der Auswanderer", an epic saga spanning 45 years about the life, loves, hardships and incredible adventures of a German immigrant child in Australia during the early sixties enjoyed a spectacular start as an eBook publication on Amazon and just missed out on bestseller ranking twice.  However, having been absent from the country of my birth for more than 45 years and not being up to date with the recent restructuring of German grammar rules, I felt that it was imperative to rectify any language anomalies in accordance with the "new German". The book has been temporarily taken off the shelf and will be republished, together with the English version as soon as it is available.

"Das Kind der Auswanderer" - die abenteuerliche Geschichte eines Auswanderung Kindes der sechziger Jahre, die sich ueber 45 Jahre ihres Lebens spannt, mit aussergewoehnlichen Erlebnissen in Australien, der Wildnis Tasmaniens und Neuseeland, konnte drei erfolgreiche Monate als eBuch auf Amazon.de verzeichnen und schaffte es gleich zweimal um Haaresbreite auf die Bestseller Liste. Bedingt durch die 45 jaehrige Abwesenheit im Land meiner Geburt, war ich nicht auf dem letzten Stand der neuen Rechtschreibung und somit war es angebracht, das Buch vorruebergehend vom Markt zu nehmen, um Unregelmaessigkeiten mit dem neuen Deutsch zu berichtigen. Das Buch wird zusammen mit der Englischen Version erneut erscheinen.

The news is devastating and hits Laura like a bolt of lightning out of the blue. "We're

migrating to Australia", is all her parents tell her. When the ship departs  in March, 1963 and the last, dim outlines of her homeland fade from Laura's sight, her world crumbles beneath her. What is waiting for them in this hot, burnt continent at the other end of the world? The brutal reality of her new life soon hits her with full force. Australia is not the promised land of milk and honey and nothing is, as it used to be. The years that follow are filled with homesickness, austerity, disappointments and more often than not, desperation.  Laura learns to somehow  cope with the challenges of her new life  and ultimately accepts Australia as her home and learns to love the sunburnt country.

She meets the love of her life - a German - but it's too late. She is already in an unhappy marriage with a possessive Australian and the mother of a young son. She decides to defy her fate and to fight for this forbidden love and a future at the side of the German.

Happy at last, her new life leads her from one incredible adventure to the next. On a remote farm in the wilderness of Tasmania, in an old goldmining town in New Zealand, on isolated, remote islands, as the guest of an American Shaman and finally, after 45 long years, back in the country of her birth.
